Tokyo. Tokyo shares opened lower on Monday as the ruling bloc retains its majority in the Upper House elections as planned, the focus now being to focus on corporate profits this week. AFP reported.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 was down 0.62% or 132.64 points to 21,336.54 early in the session, while the overall Topix index was down 0.59% or 9.31 points to 1 558.10.
