LOS ANGELES, September 1 (Reuters) – Paramount Pictures has delayed the release of Tom Cruise’s films “Top Gun: Maverick” until May 2022 and “Mission: Impossible 7” until September 2022, a spokesperson for ViacomCBS Inc (VIAC.O) the studio said on Wednesday, as COVID-19 infections rise.
The sequel to “Top Gun,” which has been repeatedly delayed during the pandemic, was scheduled to debut in theaters on November 19. She will now debut on the date that had been set for “M: I 7” within the next year. Memorial Day weekend.

“Paramount needs it to be a big global hit. The global market just isn’t there yet,” Bock wrote on Twitter.
