Some workers at the Tema oil refinery (TOR) appealed to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president, to remove her from her board of directors and chief executive, accused of mismanaging the premises. .

The workers, who pleaded anonymity for fear of reprisals, said in a document made available to the Ghana News Agency that for more than two years, TOR's board of directors and management Had not made a decision to make the refinery viable.

"They have agreed with the BDCs to partner with all our pipelines and deny TOR's income from transmission for their selfish gains," they said.

According to the workers, "It may be interesting for the ordinary Ghanaian to note that engineers and technicians may not have the opportunity to take training but that buddies from the council and doctor are sent to Dubai to follow. a training while the workers' provident fund 30 million euros), the arrears of SSNIT contributions, pension, medical supplies and even trade unions are huge "

They further stated that the management staff was always busy approving trips abroad "as if TOR was a tourism business".

They accused the Board and the General Manager of running out of ideas for moving the refinery forward, saying that the general manager since taking office had given several promises that had not yet come to fruition.

They also wondered why "board members come for meetings every time and leave with thick envelopes in the name of sitting allowances, gasoline coupons and even trips to the outside on behalf of TOR".
