Okada's business has taken root in many parts of the country
The Public Security Bureau (BPS) has suggested to the government to take a different approach to crack down on the use of the motorcycle for commercial purposes (Okada) in Ghana rather than simply ban its use.
Although Ghanaian laws have a negative meaning on "Okada", the activity has taken root in many parts of the country.
The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) said it would soon set up a national program of advisory review regarding laws governing Okada's activities.
But the Public Security Bureau ruled out the feasibility of full law enforcement nationwide, saying that motorcycles are the only means of transportation used in some rural areas of Ghana.
