Fernando Llorente cheekily 'liked' a post mocking Arsenal after his goal against Manchester City feels Tottenham into the semi-final Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino named Llorente among his substitutes at the Etihad but the striker went on to play a starring role after replacing the injured Moussa Sissoko at the end of a pulsating first half.

Llorente bundled the ball past Ederson in the 73rd minute and following VAR review, referee Cuneyt Cakir awarded Spurs a crucial away goal.

Raheem Sterling looked for a dramatic winner for the City of Sergio Aguero Sergio Aguero was awarded to be in the build-up to the goal.

After the final whistle, Llorente 'liked' a post looking ahead to the tie which poked fun at Arsenal's recent struggles in Europe.

The tweet said: 'Just a reminder that the Tottenham Hotspur stadium will have seen many of the Champions League semi-finals within 27 days of its opening, as the Emirates has in its 13 year existence.'

Llorente is confident Spurs can make 'history' in the Champions League this season after they managed to see City at the Etihad.

'What a night, unbelievable! It's one of the best moments in my career, 'The Spaniard told Tottenham's official website.

'It's true that I've lived unbelievable moments like winning the World Cup, winning the European Championship, winning the Europa League (with Sevilla) and winning the leagues in Italy (with Juventus) but this one is history.
