Tottenham was not at its best in a palace but they do not care – they are at home – John Cross

No nervousness for the opening night, the party went exactly as planned and ended with the most important victory.

And when nearly 60,000 fans began singing "When The Spurs Go Marching In," the new place has really felt at home once again.

Tottenham was not at its best, a performance not as brilliant as the magnificent world-clbad stadium, and yet they did the job.

A well deserved win to bring them back to third place, keep them in the ranks of the Champions League and you think that it will be vital for them to start paying their new house of a billion pounds.

Mauricio Pochettino had to fear that his players would feel overwhelmed, discouraged and inhibited at such a big party in the club's history.

The Spurs are finally at home

Yet two reliable men, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen, scored the goals in the second half, but it also seemed like a smooth transition.

The atmosphere was good, the stadium covered in white and navy blue, the well-known songs and fans enjoying every minute while the club kept all the best traditions but served them on a larger scale.

They thought of everything at the official opening of the new Tottenham stadium – even a pre-match snowstorm offering a thin layer of white stuff on the ground before the kickoff.

The pre-game presentation was perfect, the Spurs fan and tenor Wynne Evans sang Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur with the two teams on the field and the Palace players seemed disconcerted despite the pomp and ceremony .

In fact, Palace also watched the pbaders-by once the match started and finally, the whole discussion, all the work and everything that was going on in the stadium was made concrete by football.

Son opened the notation

You can feel the desperation of the Spurs players to become the first to score in their new stadium, to put their name in the story.

Tottenham had all the play, all the possession and pinned the poor Palace at the back while Roy Hodgson's players were holding the barricades and stood firm on the edge of the surface.

Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Heung-Mon Son and Christian Eriksen all got closer. The goal of the palace keeper, Vicente Guaita, has lived a charming life, with visitors offering very little in return.

In fact, Palace did not even seem vaguely dangerous before half-time when Michy Batshuayi took advantage of a rare opportunity, shooting a powerful 20-meter shot just after 51 minutes.

But the pressure had to say at one point. It always came just because the Spurs were so dominant, so much in control and so much better.

It started with the loss of the ball in the middle of the field, Luka Milivojevic, in the middle of the field, Eriksen giving advantage to his on the edge of the area and the South Korean quickly returned to leave James Tomkins horribly exposed while he was looking for a shot on goal.

The opening ceremony was spectacular

His free kick, Milivojevic rushing back to try to make amends ended up deflecting the ball into the net with the opposing goalkeeper Guaita.

Suddenly, the Spurs felt at home at home, because the tension has dissipated, the faster the results, the easier it will be to call home.

The pitch was still greasy and the players could not help slipping, but it was rather because of the drizzle than the new pitch.

Kane was unusually out of the way as he was clear after 66 minutes and had a horribly high and wide shot as Spurs tried to find the second goal, the killer.

Finally, after 80 minutes, Ben Davies took the ball, son Nour Kane, who was mingling with James McArthur, and the ball tipped it off nicely to Eriksen who swept the ball.

Palace organized a late rally while Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke and Patrick Van Aanholt all got closer, but nothing was going to stop the night of Tottenham.
