REAL BETIS would probably accept an offer of 70 million pounds for Giovani Lo Celso, a target of Tottenham, it was said.
The Argentine midfielder has been on the Spurs radar for some time, but both clubs can not hear on a fee.
The former PSG man has a release clause of 88 million pounds, but according to Sky Sports News, the Spanish club would accept 18 million less.
But the Spurs are still hesitant although they have not spent a penny on transfer fees last season.
Lo Celso would like to go to the Premier League and would like to work with his fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino Spurs.
The Spurs would still be looking for a contract for the 23-year-old and would likely break their current transfer record – £ 38.4m on Davinson Sanchez – if they did.
Lo Celso scored 16 goals and six badists in 46 games with Real Betis last season.
Argentina is currently in Brazil to represent its country at Copa America.
And he's among a number of stars – including Duvan Zapata and David Neres – who could play for a shot in the Premier League at the tournament.
With Christian Eriksen potentially on the verge of leaving and Tanguy Ndombele perhaps on his way – it will be interesting to see how the Spurs could line up in the middle of the field next season.
