Trader Joe's organic wine range includes excellent Chardonnay

With regard to buying cheap white wine at Trader Joe's, spring is synonymous with the store's organic Shaw brand, instead of the standard "Two Buck Chuck".

The Business Insider retailers section is here to sample five types of Shaw's: two white, one rosé and two red.

We found that Shaw Whites were largely brighter and had a cleaner taste than their non-organic counterparts. And this comes from a group mainly made up of so-called red wine lovers.

The competition was tight between pinot grigio and chardonnay, but the chards ended up winning us.

Critics unanimously agreed that Chardonnay was worth $ 3.99, and all but one said that they would share this drink with friends.

In terms of taste, this wine makes a bold entry and a quiet exit. A taster called the wine "decent", although "dish at the end"; another agreed that, while the first note "crushes your face," the taste "slowly disappears" the more you sip.

In group, we also took the notes "earthy", "floral", "sweet" and "woody", a critic comparing the first note to "strong cheddar".

"It's a very good carte blanche," wrote a reviewer.

All in all, this is not a bad wine to sip outdoors on a nice summer day.
