Traditional priests' performances mark Asantehene's 20th anniversary celebrations

Kumasi, March 28, GNA – The Manhyia Palace in
Kumasi witnessed Wednesday's scene of picturesque dance performances and
performances of hundreds of traditional priests and priestesses, who

the 20th anniversary celebrations of the enthronement of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,

numbering over 1000 performing traditional dance, to summon the spirits of
the Asante gods to protect the Asante kingdom and its occupant, from any

Some of the priests, dressed in white sheets of
waist up to the knees, had the face and shirtless painted white
talc with amulets around their waist, while others wore engraved talisman
traditional blouses.

Filming in artistic dance movements for
traditional drumming and lyrics, they presented their supernatural powers with the
