The last trailer of Hobbs and Shaw sends a familiar message: family is everything.
The film plans to stretch this clbadic mantra Fast & Furious. By family, we hear teamed up with his worst enemy (see: Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw to save the world) or something more literal, such as arming your brothers and your mother in a total war in Hawaii. Even the bad guys from Hobbs and Shaw feel like a family who did not have a playful parent declare himself Superman before being mistreated? It's Idris Elba, in a nasty role, he seems born to play.
Hobbs and Shaw find Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson coming back Fast Five Hobbs and Jason Statham as avenger Shaw, introduced for the first time in Furious 7. They partner to confront Elba, whose Brixton, "the cyber-genetically improved anarchist," wants to unleash a deadly virus on the world. Why? That's what genetically improved anarchists do, man! The problem for our heroes: Brixton is basically "Black Superman" (his words), which solves most of life's problems by crushing them.
Joining Hobbs and Shaw is Shaw's sister, played by Vanessa Kirby, who does not play the same character of Mission: Impossible – Falloutbut we can pretend. Helen Mirren, who played in a small uncredited Cameo role in The fate of the furious Deckard and Owen Shaw's mother are back as well. Roman Reigns, Johnson's cousin (and WWE star), as well as Cliff Curtis, Josh Mauga and John Tui, will represent the Hobbs brothers.
