Divock Origi was back on the scoresheet as Liverpool won a 6-0 win against Tranmere Rovers in their first outing since winning the Champions League final.
Jurgen Klopp saw his team make a good pre-season debut at Prenton Park in a match that also saw Rhian Brewster explain why he was tipped to play an important role next term.
The Reds, who played their first game of the summer, lost little time signaling their intention to resume where they had stopped.
Nathaniel Clyne opened the ball with a nice shot in the top corner of just inside the box just five minutes from the end.
This prompted the visitors to dominate their new opposition to the League One, but it was not until nearly half the time for the clbad difference to manifest itself through Brewster.
The striker first saw that it was good to take the lead on Harry Wilson to get away from the right-hand line, and he added a second shortly thereafter following a reverse shot by James Milner.
Klopp made 11 changes to his team at half-time, but that did not seem to hinder their ease.
The Reds scored shots in the round of 16 when Ben Woodburn set promising midfielder Curtis Jones to a point blank 10 minutes after the restart.
And then Origi showed that he had not lost any of his final instincts from Madrid, catching Joel Matip's ball over his head before going around the goalkeeper and punching an empty goal.
When Bobby Duncan exploited Ki-Jana Hoever's good work to bring the goal home with more than 20 minutes remaining, Liverpool seemed ready to collect a cricket score.
But their advantage was somewhat dulled by an injury to Paul Glatzel, Duncan's under-18 partner, amusingly replaced by junior goaltender Dan Atherton.

SUBS
80 minutes: Liverpool finally has an eleventh player and his goaltender, Dan Atherton, plays on the front.
I like that.
73 minutes: Liverpool have only 10 men left – perhaps for the rest of the match – while Paul Glatzel is injured and forced to leave.
A shame for the Under-18 captain in his first-team debut, hopefully this will not prevent him from participating in the upcoming US tour.
71mins: Tranmere has the ball in the Liverpool net but it will not count.
Walker-Rice ends well in a sharp corner, but the flag goes straight up to indicate that he was offside when receiving the ball.

Tranmere Rovers Liverpool 0-6 | Duncan 67 & # 39;
Liverpool does not give up here.
Hoever tumbles into the right area before throwing Glatzel and, although the young striker can not finish, his partner under 18 can certainly do it.
Enter Bobby Duncan for an easy finish at close range.
65 minutes: Woodburn encounters a center in the area with a scorpion kick, but he flies over the bar.
It would have been a goal of the young midfielder.
GOAL!
Tranmere Rovers 0-5 Liverpool | Origi 60 & # 39;
The hero of the Liverpool Champions League celebrates his new contract with a goal!
Origi does well to control a Matip ball on top before taking it with the goalkeeper.
GOAL!
Tranmere Rovers 0-4 Liverpool | Jones 53 & # 39;
I think this last message could have put the kiss of death on the hosts …
Woodburn retrieves the ball from the right side of the box and chooses Jones at the back post for a direct finish at close range.
Impressive tricks of the Reds on their first outing from Madrid.
53mins: Tranmere shows a little more threat at the beginning of this period as the new Liverpool team gets to grips with things.
Many more young people are on the bill for the Reds in the second minute.
START
46mins: Tranmere takes us back to clbad here.
Here is a reminder of the Liverpool team in the second period: Jaros, Hoever, Matip, Johnston, Lewis, Fabinho, Jones, Woodburn, Duncan, Glatzel, Origi.

Jurgen Klopp has great expectations for Rhian Brewster this season. He will be delighted to see him among the goals earlier.
GOAL!
Tranmere Rovers Liverpool 0-3 | Brewster 45 & # 39;
He did it again.
Milner shoots from a distance and, even if the goalkeeper decides to save money, he can only go against a Brewster ashore.
The young striker does not miss this distance.
GOAL!
Tranmere Rovers 0-2 Liverpool | Brewster 38 & # 39;
The Reds have their second and that's Rhian Brewster who understands it.
The young striker scored Harry Wilson's back end on the goal and nodded convincingly to the back of the net.
34 minutes: Milner brings a great backup of Scott Davies, captain of Tranmere, a long drive away.
Brewster is on the tracking track but sinks him in the stand and is reported offside anyway.
27 minutes: Rhian Brewster wins a free kick while he takes the ball back to the goal.
It's an element of the young striker's game that he has long desired to improve and moments like that are encouraging.
20 minutes: Tranmere is getting closer as Corey Blackett-Taylor cracks a distance effort after getting hurt to the right.
The Rovers No.23 is refused by a powerful stop Simon Mignolet.
13mins: Tranmere has done a lot of effort while he is looking to get back into this ordeal, but the Liverpool clbad is sometimes very revealing.
Adam Lallana, in a role little known in No.6, is very good at keeping the ball in tight positions and playing the visitors.
GOAL!
Tranmere Rovers 0-1 Liverpool | Clyne 5 & # 39;
What a strike!
Liverpool quickly recovers the ball thanks to Gomez before Brewster feeds Clyne just inside the box.
The rear-back evaluates his options before hitting one in the nearest corner.
4 minutes: Liverpool dominated possession of the ball in the debut but no real chance to speak for the moment.
In addition, Harvey Elliott could be recruited into the crowd at Prenton Park.
