With the Polish striker joining the Rossoneri, striker Lo Gonzalo Higuain will be clear to carry out his long-rumored project in Chelsea.

Chelsea will make a six-month loan to Higuain with an option to buy the attacker at the end of the season for an amount of 32.5 million pounds sterling (36 million euros).

Higuain spent the first half of the season with Milan on loan from Juventus. The Rossoneri were in a hurry to find a replacement before sanctioning the transfer of Argentina to Stamford Bridge.

This replacement will come in the form of Piatek, who dominated this period by scoring 19 goals in 21 games with Genoa.

Milan would have disbursed 35 million euros (31 million pounds sterling) to land the 23 – year – old Polish international, compared to fellow Robert Lewandowski.

Piatek and Higuain were both left out of their respective teams on Monday, while Milan beat Genoa 2-0 in Serie A.

Before the match, Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso lamented persistent rumors that Higuain had joined his former manager Maurizio Sarri in Chelsea.

"I want to be honest with you all, we had a bad training session today because of all these rumors," Gattuso said.

"We talked after the training session and I did not consider it [Higuain] ready for this game

"I accept his decision, he surely could have done more and maybe we could have helped him to better integrate."

Higuain has not achieved his usual goals goal this season, scoring only eight times in all competitions for the Rossoneri.

He will seek to relaunch an attack from Chelsea that suffered while Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata failed to qualify for the position of attacker of this post.

Morata also seems to be moving, as Goal understands that Chelsea has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to allow the Spanish striker to go on loan, the La Liga club having an option of £ 48.5 million ($ 62 million) to sign the futures contract.
