Socceroos star Jackson Irvine ended months in limbo joining the Scottish high-flying team Hibernian.
Irvine, who left Hull City in June of last year, has been without a club since then as COVID-19 impacted his search for a new club.
But the 27-year-old midfielder returns to a country where he has enjoyed significant success in the past. Irvine started his professional career with Celtic heavyweights before also representing Kilmarnock and Ross County.

Now he will line up alongside fellow Australian representative Martin Boyle.
“I’m glad it was all sorted out because as soon as I heard about Hibs’ interest, I was keen to make it happen,” Irvine told the club’s website.
“No one needs to tell me what a great club is. I saw it for myself when I was with Celtic and Ross County.
“I had a great conversation with the gaffer, who explained that this is a club that wants to compete for silverware and qualify for Europe. Why wouldn’t you want to be a part of it?
“I missed playing so I hope to get involved as soon as possible. I will work as hard as I can on the training and hope to give the staff something to think about.
Hibernian manager Jack Ross said: “We are delighted to be able to add a player of Jackson’s caliber to the squad and I think he will complement the other players we have.
“Jackson played at a high level as an international. He can go box-to-box, he offers a goal threat and he’s hungry to play. He’s joining us at an exciting time with some big games to come.
Hibernian occupies fourth place in the Scottish Premiership.
