Transfer news and gossip: Prem clubs are watching Gueye over Spurs and Chelsea

There are only two days left before the transfer deadline in January – and it looks like some clubs are ready for a frantic race for dedication.

According to Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea is looking to sign a second contract while Manchester City could seize Paris Saint-Germain to try to bring Everton star, Idrissa Gueye.

Tottenham Hotspur is also looking to be jostled at the expense of a rival Premier League, with an investigation into the signing of a Belgian international who could join Leicester.

Newcastle United will also be looking to complete the signing of its record, which is about to be concluded – which could be confirmed Wednesday with a little time to waste before the deadline.

Prem clubs join the battle of Gueye

Manchester City and Arsenal have joined Paris Saint-Germain in the battle to sign Idrissa Gueye Everton.

The 29-year-old has asked to leave Goodison Park in the interest of PSG and rivals in the Premier League could now try to delight the Senegalese international Toffees.

According to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery would be interested, even though they probably should have usurped Everton's € 21.5 million bid for PSG.

Marco Silva confirmed after their match on Tuesday, that Gueye had missed with a minor injury, that he had not received any new offers.

But they could face stiff competition to keep the midfielder before Thursday's deadline, and if they can not reach an agreement now, the clubs could revive their interest this summer.

The Spurs inquired about the Tielemans affair

Tottenham asked if Youri Tielemans was on loan from Monaco.

The Spurs plan to compete with Leicester to sign the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder.

Foxes director Claude Puel is ready to pay £ 20 million to hire Tielemans during this window. He could include Andre Silva in an agreement.

Northerners in London consider Tielemans a potential addition to signing a first loan for permanent relocation this summer.

One can however wonder if the Spurs will be able to offer him enough football in team first by the end of the campaign.

Sarri offers an update on transfers to Chelsea

The boss of Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri, admitted that he was "waiting" for the signing of the contract for the second of January, following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain.

Argentine striker Higuain, loaned by Juventus last week, had been the club's priority this window but his Italian coach had hoped to bring two players before the transfer deadline.

Sarri wants to add a central midfielder to his team and help ease the pressure on Jorginho, after Cesc Fabregas was allowed to join Monaco earlier this month.

Leandro Paredes and Nicolo Barella were both identified as potential targets, but the former rather completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Sarri said: "I thought for ourselves that it was important to have two players. We arrived. I'm waiting for each other.

"If it happens, I will be very happy, otherwise I have to work with these players. This is not a big problem for me.

Almiron settled for £ 20m

Miguel Almiron is expected to become the £ 20 million record of Newcastle United, a major breakthrough for Rafa Benitez.

The Atlanta United star flies to Tyneside after the MLS has accepted a reduced fare, after initially declaring that the price had started "with a three."
