Alex Meret's return to form and fitness has left the Colombian stuck in Italy and the Gunners group is ready to take another decision.
Arsenal goaltender, David Ospina, said that a return to South America was "a possibility" after Alex Meret's return to form, which had left him stuck in Napoli where he was loaned at the beginning of the season.
The Colombian international has made 10 appearances in Serie A for Partenopei since joining a contract of one season that gave Napoli the opportunity to sign it definitively.
Ospina moved to Stadio San Paolo when Meret broke his arm just six days after signing Udinese for € 22 million. However, a clause in the loan agreement will require Napoli to sign it definitively if he continues to play.
Publisher's choice
"I knew it could happen," said Ospina Blu Radio.
"My current situation is that I'm ready for this season and that there is a clause based on the number of matches, so if I play regularly, it will become an automatic purchase.
"When the situation does not depend on me, I can only wait for decisions to be made by Napoli." The club had just spent a lot of money on Meret, a young goalkeeper with a great future in front of him, so I knew that when he came back from an injury, it could happen.
"He's an excellent keeper, a lovely guy and he will make a real name for the future."
Ospina is third in the hierarchy at Arsenal, where Bernd Leno has emerged as the first choice of the Gunners in front of Petr Cech.

At the age of 30, Ospina said he was open to a move that would bring him regular first-team football and expressed interest in returning to his home continent.
"I want to continue playing in Europe, although a return to South American football is always a possibility.
"I'm open for a move closer to home."
