Bournemouth recruits Chris Mepham from Brentford

Bournemouth has completed the signing of Chris Mepham of Brentford for £ 12 million.

The Welsh international center-back has signed a long-term contract with Vitality Stadium.

He said, "It took a while for my signature to be on the dotted line, but it was worth it.

"There are so many things to love in this club, not less than the manager. Eddie Howe is a fantastic manager and what he has done here is remarkable. Working under him every day is a really exciting prospect.

"I'm still young and I have a lot to learn and develop about my game, but I can not wait to get started, meet everyone and get out on the training ground."

Eddie Howe, Bournemouth's manager, added, "Chris is a talented young defenseman who has been watching our radar for some time. I am so glad that he is finally our player.

"He has shown tremendous potential during his career in Brentford and playing for Wales, and we think it's the perfect environment to continue his development.

"Chris is a good defender and he is comfortable on the ball and we think he'll be a great addition to the team here."
