As part of the e-Transform government program to automate existing manual filing systems in the Court's registry, the Judicial Service has rolled out the online justice system.

According to the judiciary, the duplication of trial numbers, handwritten documentation and manually created files, manual payments and receipts for court proceedings; this may lead to fraudulent activities, delays in court proceedings, among other difficult factors, will be a thing of the past.

With the introduction of the online justice system, there will be an electronic platform for filing, service, automatic fee badessment, automated badignment of business to schedule management courts / judges and the enforcement of court decisions for all cases, cases and cases filed in court registries.

The judicial secretary said that the introduction of the electronic platform paves the way for a new phase of judicial service that would prevail over accountability, transparency and efficiency in the delivery of justice in Ghana.

Speaking at the launch of the electronic justice system at the complex courthouse, President Akufo-Addo baderted that the paperless judicial system operated with a minimum of interference, which ensured a more great execution in our judicial system.

He said it was essential that the judiciary maintain the confidence of Ghanaians in effectively using the electronic system, as many were disappointed by the courts.

Pronouncing his speech as a special guest of honor at the event, he said: "We have witnessed several cases of people who felt sidelined because of the cumbersome processes involving the filing of files. Some along the line have abandoned the justice system. Justice must be done to all kinds of people without fear or favor. This is the true sense of equality in the concept of law.

He praised the initiative, adding that innovation was recognition that digitization would govern lives, which would help bridge the technological gap at different levels.

For her part, Chief Justice (Chief Justice) Sophia Akuffo stated that she was pleased that the unacceptable delays in the justice and frustration of the lawyers ended with the introduction of the justice system. line.

"The effort is a result that has lasted for several years. It stems from the obvious need to reform our system, where poor paper-based processes and record-keeping are causing unacceptable delays in the administration of justice and the frustration of judges, lawyers and lawyers. as well as those who appear in court with such justice, "said the CJ.

The CJ explained: "Our registration systems are integrated into the current system because we will not run any parallel systems. A criminal case tracking system will also fit into this system and when we use the lower courts. their system will also feed what we are inaugurating today. We will have a system of justice and administration of justice that will speed up the process from the beginning of the procedure to the last appeal. "

She revealed that the pilot project had been underway for a few months and that staff from the courthouse complex were moving through the system.

Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful praised the judiciary, saying the online justice system was a timely initiative, saying the judiciary had moved quickly to improve the quality of service delivery through 39, information and technology.

As a lawyer herself, she said she was happy "The L & E era of missing lists, poor record keeping now belongs to the past of the 43 courts".

The project is fully financed by the World Bank through the Ministry of Communications. The Judicial Service of Ghana is the implementing agency and a South African company, MM. EOH, is the solution provider. An American society, MM. Leading Associates, plays the role of supervisor.
