The chaos of the trains hit London today while three key stations are suffering serious disruption.
Commuters were advised to avoid Waterloo Station this morning after excessive engineering work resulted in the cancellation of most trains. Although London's busiest transport hub has now reopened, disturbances at the South Western Railway should continue until at least 18 hours, according to National Rail.
Meanwhile, signage problems in Milton Keynes Central are expected to disrupt the services of Caledonian Sleeper, London Northwestern Railway (LNR), Southern and Virgin Trains until 1:00 pm; trips may take 90 minutes longer than expected.

The East Midlands services between Bedford and Kettering are currently suspended after someone has been hit by a train. This means that all trains from Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield to London St Pancras are canceled and the disruption should continue until at least 15 hours.
And in the north, the emergency services deal with an incident between Manchester and Leeds that has resulted in the blocking of all lines. Train services may be canceled, delayed or overhauled, with disruptions lasting up to 13:30.

Pbadengers of TransPennine Express can travel on the East Midlands or Northern lines between Sheffield and Leeds, as well as on the Northern lines between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester (Piccadilly or Manchester).

Customers are advised not to take the Kettering train this morning, according to National Rail.
Tickets will be accepted on alternative services and a replacement bus service is in operation between Kettering, Wellingborough & Bedford and between Kettering and Corby.

National Rail said: "A train struck a person between Kettering and Bedford, blocking all lines. There is no accurate estimate of when the lines will reopen, but we expect the trains to remain disturbed until at least 14 hours.
"Currently, trains can not travel between Kettering and Bedford, some trains will also be canceled or will start at alternative stations, and travel times can be extended to 90 minutes."
Sensors on the track, which measure the speed and location of a train, were damaged near Milton Keynes. Without the data provided by the sensors, signalers can not run trains safely on the network.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "We are very sorry to have trained the pbadengers struck today by a lane failure near Milton Keynes. Our engineers strive to solve the problem as quickly as possible. Pbadengers are advised to consult National Rail's inquiries or their rail operators for the latest travel information. "
All lines reopened to and from London Waterloo as a result of excessive engineering work earlier this morning.
Trains are now able to travel between London and Waterloo, but when they closed, they could not leave a number of depots and go to where they were supposed to be.

South Western Railway confirmed that tickets would also be accepted on some of the Reading: 500 (Park & Ride) bus routes between Winnersh Triangle and Reading; 703 between Martins Heron and Reading; and X4 and 4 between Reading and Bracknell.
Other engineering works are scheduled this week to end on March 24th.
Commuters shared their frustration about the lack of communication from Network Rail and South Western Railway on social media.
"I understand that the chaos in Waterloo is not your fault, but what about a decent communication?" tweeted Michael Kitchener. "You announce a train leaving at 8:54 as at the hour.
"It's 09:03 still on the platform and not a single driver announcement!"
This is the second time in four months that Waterloo has been paralyzed by engineering work.
Silvia Mendes, one of the shuttles, asked Network Rail to know: "What will you do to make sure nothing happens again?
