Trent Alexander-Arnold is missing for a knee injury against Brighton
Rear-back Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold is about to sign a new five-year contract until 2024 with the club.
Discussions are not over yet but are at an advanced stage and a new contract should be announced in the coming days.
It will reflect the remarkable progress made by the 20-year-old since his last contract in 2017.
He has established himself as the first-choice right-back of the Anfield club, he made his debut in the English team and played in the World Cup.

The deal comes after Andrew Robertson, the left-back, signed a new five-year deal with Premier League leaders last week.
Earlier in the week, it had been reported that Alexander Arnold would be knee injured for at least a fortnight after being injured during the warm-up before the 1-0 win of the season in Brighton.
He does not need to be operated, but he will miss the home games against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
