Triple H revealed how he changed his diet to keep him in optimal conditions before his match against Wrestlemania 35 against Batista.

The 49-year-old returns to the ring for the first time since he needs a surgery to repair a pectoral tear that he suffered during his match against The Undertaker and Kane at the WWE Crown Jewel in November.

Triple H, 14-time WWE World Heavyweight champion, accepted Batista's challenge in a game at Wrestlemania on Sunday and 'The Game' revealed he was on a strict diet to stay in shape.

"Depending on the day I do a type of carb cycle, it's still very low in carbohydrates," Triple H told WWE.

"But in the last few weeks, I have not eaten carbohydrates for three days.

"And then one day with about 250 grams of carbs, go back to protein and fat.

'Now it's Thursday [Wrestlemania is on Sunday]I'm going to add some carbohydrates to my diet, even with fat, just to refuel.

"It's typical, you just have to look where you are and see where you can go, how to lose weight.

"I try to be as thin as possible to have as much muscle and strength, but at almost 50 [years old] I want to be sure to be so light.

"I have a lot of miles to go for my joints and everything else, so you absolutely want to make sure you're lightweight to make your joints healthy."

When asked if he ate a cheat meal, Triple H said, "Yes, I have a cheat meal every week, it helps maintain my metabolism."
