Every year or so, we hear about another crime map. Here’s the latest: Trulia’s color-coded beta test “heat” map, which the Chicago Sun-Times, is a collaboration between EveryBlock.com, CrimeReports.com and SpotCrime.com intended to enable “home buyers, sellers and renters to examine city-wide crime trends in 50 metropolitan areas,” among which, of course, Dallas.
Good timing too: the council’s public safety committee is meeting this afternoon to look at the latest crime statistics, where, you’ll see, murders are on the rise – and this graph doesn’t include the three reported homicides. yesterday by Dallas Police.
