US President Donald Trump said he would decide, after this month's G20 summit, to implement his threat to hit Beijing with tariffs equivalent to at least US $ 300 billion worth of Chinese goods.
While Trump must meet with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, the US president has announced that his decision will follow this meeting.
The date of a meeting between the two leaders has not yet been announced.
Trump's comments come as trade negotiating teams in both countries have not met since May 10.
