Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said Tuesday that he acknowledged that there was a link between the activity on his social network and the danger of real life.
Dorsey said the company is putting in place mechanisms that will reduce the likelihood that Twitter users will suffer physical damage offline as a result of what other users see on the service. Dorsey listed coordinated harbadment and doxxing campaigns, which is the online publication of personally identifiable information, as examples of physical dangers that Twitter strives to reduce.
"So, do you see the connection between what you do and the real danger to people, can you say that explicitly?" Swisher asked in a tweet.
"I see the link, and that's why we have to put physical security first and foremost.That's what we're looking to do now.We have not yet all the answers.We're n & # 39; We do not have all the answers yet, but that's the goal I think clarifies much of the work we need to do, not everything, of course, "Dorsey replied.
Swisher asked if Twitter's lack of diversity explained the company's slowness in creating features to protect users from harbadment. Dorsey explained that it was "probably for a reason".
