A woman alleged to be the courier of the drug lords and a man suspected of being a drug dealer were charged Thursday with conspiracy for conspiracy and possession of a narcotic drug without legal authorization.
Juliet Atuah Mandoh and Nana Kwesi Owusu pleaded not guilty to the two counts during their appearance before the High Court of Accra, presided over by Judge Charles Ekow Baiden.
Among other things, the prosecution gave Mandoh 93 cocaine granules to ingest and send to the United Kingdom (United Kingdom).
According to the prosecution, a test conducted by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) confirmed that it was good cocaine at 72.3% purity.
At the hearing, the court placed the two detainees in custody for reappearance on 31 January 2019.

Alleged case
The facts, as presented by the attorney, Mr. Watkins Adama, public prosecutor, were that Mandoh was a smuggler who had ingested and sent drugs to the United States and European countries for a fee.
On December 2, 2018, Owusu reportedly contacted Mandoh to ask him to send drugs to the United Kingdom.
He then took her to a hotel in Achimota on December 6, 2018 and gave her 93 pellets that she ingested in her presence.
The prosecutor later stated that Owusu had driven her to Kotoka International Airport to catch a flight to the United Kingdom.
When they arrived at the airport, Owusu called a gentleman at the airport and gave Mandoh $ 1,000, which was also paid to him. She also paid him £ 1,000 as a partial payment for bringing the illicit drug to the United Kingdom.
The prosecutor explained that during the registration process, Owusu had received a call informing him that this did not prompt Mandoh to register and board the flight. Owusu and Mandoh rushed from the airport to a hotel in Accra New Town.
Owusu left the hotel after recovering the money he had given to Mandoh and left it at the hotel.
At the hotel, Mandoh expelled six of the pellets and put them in his purse.
Busted
Mr. Adama also told the court that agents of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) had arrested Mandoh during investigations, and found the six lozenges of cocaine in his purse.
The police then placed Mandoh under surveillance and granted him an investigation bond on December 11, 2018.
On January 2, 2019, officers were able to locate Owusu at his home in East Legon and arrested him.
According to Mr. Adama, NACOB officers found $ 1,000 and £ 1,000 at Owusu's home after a search.
Owusu, he said, admitted that the money was what he had given to Mandoh and also admitted that he had given him the 93 cocaine cocaine pellets to ingest.
"He also said that the drug was given by a Nigerian in Lapaz, Accra," the prosecutor added.
