MyNewsGh.com has confirmed that two people have been arrested by the Northern Region Police Command as part of the armed arrest of the Toyota Hilux vehicle of the Savannah regional minister, police said.

According to police sources, the suspects were arrested Tuesday night and arrested by the police, who reportedly opened an investigation into the case that occurred on 6 July 2019 around 21 hours in Tamale.

According to the accounts of the suspects, on July 4, 2019, the Regional Minister of Savannah, the Hon. Adam Salifu was flying to Accra for a meeting and parked his Toyota Hilux pickup under registration number ER 3516-19 at Illiasu.

On 6 July 2019, around 9 pm, two armed men holding AK 47 rifles reportedly went to Illiasu's house and reportedly took the vehicle.

The thieves also took away the iPhone 7plus and the victim 's Samsung A6plus cell phone, as well as money for GH ¢ 200.00, and then took her to an unknown location. They then filed it and left with the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the NPP and NDC in the region are pointing at each other over the missing vehicle, with the ruling party insisting that this could be the work of the MP for Damongo and his proxies.

But the NDC categorically denied the accusation and issued a five-day ultimatum to the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council authorities to produce the vehicle or generate anger.
