The chief municipal executive (MCE) of Ejura Sekyeredumase in the Ashanti region has refuted speculations that the two suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Ibrahim Mohammed were his bodyguards.

The suspects, Ibrahim Issaka and Fuseini Alhassan, who are in custody, are believed to be MCE’s bodyguards, Mohammed Salisu Bamba.

However, testifying before the three-member committee investigating the Ejura incident, Mohammed Salisu Bamba denied them.

“No, not at all,” he replied when asked if the two suspects were his bodyguards.

He said: “The two gentlemen are the members of our party and they are the leaders of our polling stations, and as a candidate for the branch and Parliament, I will definitely have a relationship with all of my members. gone to the field. “

According to him, “some faceless individuals” are behind the allegation, trying to use Kaaka’s death for their parochial interests.

The late Kaaka was killed late last month for unknown reasons, however, some people attributed it to his role in the #FixTheCountry campaign.

The murder of Ibrahim Mohammed, alias Kaaka, led to a demonstration by some young people from Ejura, two of whom were killed in a clash with the military.

Mohammed Salisu confirmed speculations that the late Kaaka was a member of the NPP.

“I wouldn’t be able to tell if he has a party card or not, but he was a strong member who also comes when there is something like the other two suspects,” he told the Committee.

Mr Salisu Bamba, who was away from Ejura during the unrest, said his absence was based on security advice.

“I was actually going to Ejura in the afternoon, then I got a call that advised me not to come to Ejura. Then I tried to find out why and then [I was told] that it was for my own safety, which is why I am advised not to come to Ejura, ”he declared.

MCE said it had no part in Kaaka’s death.
