Two young men allegedly killed 10-year-old boy for rituals

Two young men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested for allegedly murdering a 10-year-old boy for rituals.

The sad incident occurred in Kasoa Lamtey in the municipality of Awutu Senya East in the central region.

According to reports, the suspects revealed to police after their arrest that a fetish priest from the Volta region asked them to bring a body part for money.

One of the suspect’s fathers, Kwame Nyarko, told Adom News his son didn’t know his friend was going to kill the 10-year-old boy known only as Ishmael.

He said his son admitted calling the deceased for the other suspect who later hit the young boy with a stick.

Meanwhile, Ishmael’s mother Hajia Maame Sahadatu, who couldn’t control her tears, revealed that she was shocked after hearing what had happened to her son.

She said that on the day of the murder, her son was playing video games at their home. However, a few hours later, she woke up after a nap only to have her daughter tell her that her son had died.

Madame Sahadatu said the suspects are not strangers to their homes, adding that they sometimes eat there. She added that she was very surprised that these boys hurt her child.

Some angry residents have called on the Ghanaian police to ensure that the suspects are punished accordingly for their crime.

Others have issued a warning that they may also be tempted to kill suspects if they are released without punishment.

Kwame Nyarko told Adom News his son and the other suspect are currently in police custody while investigations are still ongoing.
