Tyson recalls 69,000 pounds of chicken strips due to pieces of metal

Tyson Foods is recalling more than 69,000 pounds of frozen chicken strips as they could be contaminated with pieces of metal, the USDA reported Thursday. It was discovered after USDA food safety inspectors had received two complaints from customers.

Frozen and ready-to-eat chicken strips have been sold as:

  • 25 oz. Frozen plastic "Tyson FROZEN CHICKEN STYLE CHICKEN BREAST STRIPS BAGS WITH RIBE MEAT AND BUFFALO STYLE SAUCE" with "BEST USE AS AT NOVEMBER 30, 2019", codes 3348CNQ0317 and 3348CNQ0318 and 00 at 18:59 ( included).
  • 25 oz. Plastic package wrappers of "Tyson CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN FRITTERS FULLY COOKED WITH COOKED MEAT", stamped "BEST IF USED ON NOVEMBER 30, 2011", codes 3348CNQ0419, 3348CNQ0420, 3348CNQ04O and 2948CQ, developing 00 to 22:59 (included).
  • 20 lb case of frozen "CHICKEN BREAST CHICKEN CHICKEN BANDS WITH CHICKEN BREAST CHEST AND BUFFALO STYLE SAUCE" with "BEST SI USED AS OF NOVEMBER 30, 2019" and code 3348CNQ03.

No cases of adverse events related to the recalled products have been confirmed, the USDA said.

Consumers are asked to throw food or bring it back to the store.
