As part of the Tony Elumelu Foundation's Entrepreneurship Forum, entrepreneurs from Ghana and other African countries have been offered a marketing platform to showcase their products for the benefit of their business. from the continent.

Known as the UBA Marketplace, the foundation hopes to connect more than a thousand businesses on the continent to boost intra-African trade.

To this end, UBA Ghana is helping Ghanaian companies take advantage of the initiative that is taking place from July 26 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Daniel Adjei, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing at UBA Ghana, said, "We welcome entrepreneurs and this year we thought we could integrate the UBA market to the Tony Elumelu entrepreneurship forum to add in the program. We are ready to sponsor Ghanaian entrepreneurs during a fully remunerated trip to Abuja, whether they are customers of the bank or not. You only have to apply. If we find your company worthy of the name, you could go to Abuja to network with hundreds of like-minded entrepreneurs. "

He added: "It is network and more than 50 countries are meeting on a single platform in Abuja, so we are excited to welcome everyone as part of the new initiative."

This year, more than 216,000 applications were received, up from 151,000 last year. Nearly 90,000 of them were presented by women entrepreneurs, an increase of 45%, illustrating the Foundation's strategy to achieve greater gender balance.

Selected contractors will each receive a non-repayable seed capital of $ 5,000, access to mentors, and a 12-week corporate training program directly focused on the needs of African entrepreneurs.

"On July 26 and 27, 2019, they will meet at the TEF Entrepreneurship Forum, the largest annual gathering of African entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurship ecosystem on the continent.
