The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has become the winner of the 6th Annual University Debates Championship of Ghana.
This year's competition was held at the All Nations University College in Koforidua, Eastern Region.
UCC beat the competition of the University of Ghana and the University of Science and Technology Kwame Nkrumah (KNUST) to become champions.

This is the first time that UCC has won the Ghana Universities Championship, as KNUST won the competition last year.
The UCC team that won the competition was represented by Emmanuel Mylo Dadzie and Samuel Kojo Pinkrah.
A total of 10 universities participated in this year's competition, including UCC, KNUST and the University of Ghana.
The others are the University of Development Studies, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, the University of Energy and Natural Resources, the University of Education Winneba-Kumasi, the University College All Nations, Islamic University College and Perez University College.
Meanwhile, 52 teams from all participating universities clashed for the right to boast ultimately.

KNUST, the University of Ghana, UDS and UENR presented 11, 10, 8 and 7 teams respectively.
The Ghana Universities Debate Championship is inspired by the style of British parliamentary debate.
