The University of Development Studies (UDS) has donated quantities of medical supplies to four health facilities located in its catchment area in order to help improve the delivery of health care to residents of the area. communities.

Items worth 100,000 GHC included disposable syringes, scales, dressings, cotton wool, gloves, disinfectants, among others.

The beneficiary health facilities are located in Gongnia, a suburb of Navrongo; Piisi, a suburb of Wa; Nyankpala and Sagnarigu, all being cities where are located the four campuses of UDD.

Professor Gabriel Ayum Teye, Vice Chancellor of the UDS, who presented the articles to representatives of the Tamale beneficiary health facilities, said that this gesture was the means by which the University volunteered to improve the delivery of the services. health care in communities.

Professor Teye stated that the UDS, during its 25 years of existence, has benefited immensely from the communities in its catchment area, particularly through the support provided to its students in their community involvement in the community. part of the third quarter practical training program.

Ms. Regina Azotikemah, a community health nurse from Gongnia CHPS Compound, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, thanked UDS management for the gesture and said the items would be used for their intended purpose.
