UEW reinstates lecturers and reopens April 8

The University of Winneba Education (UEW) has reinstated with immediate effect the three lecturers recently sacked by the Board of Directors.

the The dismissal sparked a student rally that shut down the university's Winneba and Ajumako campuses on March 14, 2019.

The professors who have been reinstated in their various ranks with immediate effect are Professor Ephraim Avea Nsoh, Dr. Frimpong Kaakyire Duku and Dr. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong.

A statement signed and published by the president of the university council, Professor Emmanuel Nicholas Abakah, a copy of which was seen by Online chart stated that the Board had reviewed its disciplinary decisions made on March 7, 2019 and had therefore pardoned the three speakers involved.

The statement further stated that, on the advice and authorization of the Central Regional Security Council (REGSEC), the university would be reopened on On Monday April 8, 2019.
