Professor Gyapong stated that the 2018/2019 academic year had been very successful with modest academic progress despite some logistical constraints and had called on the government to repair the roads leading to the main campus of the University and to conduct the ongoing projects of the GETFund (Ghana Education Trust Fund).

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, regional minister of the Volta, congratulated the university for its progress and stated that the UHAS was intended to take command of the training of the best health professionals.

He added that since its inception, the University has been projecting the region and baderting that the Regional Coordinating Council is ready to help it reach the heights.

Dr. Letsa said the government was aware of the challenges facing the university, particularly its road networks, and reaffirmed its willingness to help solve them.

He said the conversion of the Volta Regional Hospital was an indication of government support for the university and called for support from all.

The regional minister asked the graduates to be the ambbadadors of UHAS and to let the world know what UAHS represented.

Professor Angela L. Ofori-Atta, guest of honor, urged students to make informed decisions and "draw up an inventory of values ​​and ward off evils".

Dr. Elvis N. Agbley of the School of Health Related Sciences won the Vice Chancellor's Award for Best UHAS Graduate.
