After a week in which Great Britain was hit by record temperatures and thunderstorms, heavy rains could now cause flooding and further disruption of travel.
Customers of East Midlands Trains have been warned to expect greatly reduced service to and from London due to damaged air line repair work and a revised schedule on multiple routes. local due to industrial action of the RMT.

Heavy rains could cause overnight flooding, disruption in movement and a low probability of power outages as accumulations of 20 to 30 mm are likely, up to 50 mm in some places.
The weather warning is extended Sunday to alert the public that areas of Scotland and England, with the exception of the Southwest, could be affected by heavy rains.
The warning of the Met Office says: "Accumulations of 40 to 60 mm are possible, with perhaps up to 80 to 100 mm in some places, especially on high ground."
There could be delays or cancellations of train and bus services.
A spokesman for East Midlands Trains said the current disruption of services on the Midland Main Line to London would continue over the weekend, as engineers repaired major damage to airline equipment near West Hampstead.
Executive Director Jake Kelly said, "We are sorry for all those who have experienced disrupted trips in the past two days.
"We are working closely with Network Rail during the repair of the airline equipment and the complete reopening of the railway, which will allow us to reintroduce our full train service to and from London St Pancras."
He added that because of the railway strike, changes would be made to services on local routes, with revised schedules.
