People who plan to travel to and from the UK in the coming weeks will have to change their plans after the Accra UK visa application center closes.
The news portal MyNewsGh.com reports that the center was closed today, January 11, 2021.
The office, according to the website, is one of many apartments affected by the closure of the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
A statement from the British High Commission to some Ghanaians in the UK says their appointments with the visa center have been postponed.
Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control, our Accra UK Visa Application Center at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel will be closed to the public from January 11, 2021 until further notice. “
He added: “A separate email will be distributed by the end of this week to reschedule your appointment from this week to next week.”
Although no official reason has been given for the temporary closure of the prestigious hotel, rumors are circulating that it is due to cases of coronavirus recorded there.
