The laboratory has seven units, namely laboratories for badytical chemistry, air quality, water quality and wastewater. The others are geotechnical, petrological, geophysical and mobile laboratories.
Professor Jerry Kumah, Vice Chancellor of UMaT, said that the acquisition of the laboratory, the first of its kind by an African university, will not only allow the institution to undertake critical activities, but also to serve the country, especially at a time when it is struggling with different types of pollution.
He said UMaT would continue to support the fight against environmental degradation through active research and dissemination of knowledge to create a better and more sustainable future for all. .
Denmark's ambbadador to Ghana, Tove Degnbol, badured the university of the Danish government's commitment to deepen cooperation with Ghana to bring concrete benefits to its people.
