MOGADISHU, June 17 (Xinhua / GNA) – The United States
United Nations Mission in Somalia condemned Sunday the bombings in Mogadishu and
in northeastern Kenya that killed at least 21 people and wounded more than 20
others on Saturday.
No political agenda can be served by acts of
terrorism, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia stated that after the attacks,
claimed by the terrorist group al-Shabab.
Nine people died in two car bomb attacks
Somalia, and 12 Kenyan policemen were killed when a vehicle they were traveling
in an improvised explosive device (IED) in Wajir County, along the
Border between Kenya and Somalia.

Somali police commander Bashir Abdi Mohamed
said Saturday that nine people had been killed and 25 others injured during the first
Attack on the car bomb at the Sayidka junction.
The second car bomb exploded near the KM4 junction
and resulted in the death of the bomber, said Mohamed, adding that security

In northeastern Kenya, an IED attack
police officer suffered serious injuries. The police were on patrol
between Khorof-harar and Konton in Wajir County when their vehicle drove on the
IED, said Police Inspector Hilary Mutyambai.
Attacks on Mogadishu and Wajir have been claimed
by al-Shabab, who kidnapped Thursday three Kenyan police reservists from the group
same region in the Wajir region.
