It is odd that NDC supporters insisting on the government support the current NPP government for the current stock of Ghanaian debt and ignore the Mahama government's terrible decision-making mistakes, which have invariably destabilized the country's macroeconomic indicators. Ghana in the middle of the huge stock of indebted debt.
Even if critics have valid arguments about excessive borrowing, some of us would prefer in principle that these loans be made available to the needs of poor and disadvantaged Ghanaians through pragmatic programs such as Free SHS. some conspiratorial plotters shamelessly waste our resources by "creating, looting and sharing".
This is not a desperate attempt to justify ill-considered borrowing, far from it. But let's be honest, if some people could shamelessly conspire and shake billions of cedis at the expense of the poor Ghanaians, the so-called 80 billion GHC loan, which is put to good use for the benefit of all Ghanaians, is very useful. meaning in my humble opinion.
Moreover, it is somewhat specious, and to a large extent oxymoronic, that skeptics inexorably badert that the burgeoning economy of the NPP government is not reflected in the pockets of Ghanaians.
Dear readers, trust me, I do not want to say for a moment that every Ghanaian life has been transformed enormously under the Akufo-Addo government, far from it.
The fact remains, however, that since the takeover on 7th In January 2017, the Akufo-Addo government put in place numerous social intervention programs and policies aimed at transforming the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
In hindsight, the vast majority of Ghanaians benefit immensely from the implementation of many social intervention programs and policies, such as the SHS free law, a village dam, a district, a factory, a million dollars per riding , NABCO, the restoration of nurses. and teacher allowances, among others.
It is undeniable that parents derive enormous benefits from Free SHS policy.
According to credible sources, the government will spend an incredible amount of GH5532.83 over a three-year period for each student.
This means that Ghanaian parents, including my maternal uncle, Oliver, who has three children in SHS, will pocket at least GHC16598.49 over three years.
Some of us, so to speak, do not want to discount suggestions that we should reserve our criticism until the tasks to be completed are completed and then we can measure "contributions to results".
However, we would like to know if the critics will be satisfied and withdraw their criticism, if President Akufo-Addo succeeded in overthrowing all the economic disorder created by the government of President Mahama?
Let's face it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with borrowing money and investing wisely. However, there is everything wrong with an inconsiderate loan.
Thus, we can safely conclude that members of the NDC of the opposition are not entirely justified in vehemently arguing that, since opposition MPs at the time were persistently opposed to Endless borrowing from the NDC government, the government in place no longer has the right to borrow money to fund projects such as free SHS advantageous.
To the extent that some of us respect the opinion of the NDC opponent on the loan, its point of contention is somewhat sophisticated, since the detractors of the former NDC government were based on loans. inconsiderate.
It can not be denied that since the entry into force of the fourth Republican Constitution (from 1993 to the present), Ghana has unfortunately lost billions of dollars for development projects through unbridled beating and Corruption.
Indeed, it is irresponsible for public officials to obtain loans on behalf of Ghana. They would eventually hide, divert and divert funds to the detriment of poor and disadvantaged Ghanaians.
Given the circumstances, some of us agree with the NDC faithful: it is disgusting that officials misappropriate funds on behalf of SADA, GYEEDA, SUBA, SSNIT, among others.
Frankly, it was never fair that money to provide textbooks to schoolchildren would be odiously diverted into the personalization of buses.
Apparently, some of us do not suffer from chronic memory loss and so can perfectly remember how some NDC officials have diverted more than $ 200 million from SADA funds.
We were shocked to hear that much of the SADA funds were invested in burnt trees and that the guinea fowls flew without trace to Burkina Faso. Like it's weird?
We can also remember, even with extreme sadness, the used loan from STX Housing that was supposed to provide affordable housing for security agencies. Yet Vice President Mahama, at the time, reportedly billed us over $ 300 million. How strange is it?
If you remember, a few years ago, Mr. Amidu came out and audaciously informed the entire country that the late President Mills had set up a committee to investigate his vice-president. President (Mahama) on what he (Mills) had perceived as irrevocable dishonesty. the share of his vice president on the agreement with Brazilian planes.
It will be remembered that Mr. Amidu went out and told the entire nation that in July 2011, the prices of the acquisition of five (5) aircraft for the Ghana Armed Forces, negotiated by former President Mahama, were heard.
Mr. Amidu pointed out that, although on July 26, 2011, the late Mills attempted to defend the purchase of the five aircraft, he had become convinced of the need to create a committee to investigate these supervised purchases by the former president Mahama.
It was not so long ago that we woke up to hear news of the corruption scandal in the former NDC administration, which claimed to have received 40.5 million GHAR for the transfer of funds. secrets to the presidency, via the chief of staff of the time (see: 'The group explains why Amidu must probe Mahama, Debrah in the payment BOST GH ¢ 40.5m & # 39; myjoyonline.com/ghanaweb.com, 19/09/2018).
More recently, we read that four brave Ghanaians had asked special prosecutor Martin Amidu to open an investigation into the alleged head of state. Social responsibility fund of the $ 13 million group for the development of the Western Region that petitioners claimed to have been hijacked by ex-President Mahama (See: Mahama used $ 13 million of money from the EO group, probe it – Application of four citizens Amidu'aujourd. com / ghanaweb.com, 18/06/2018).
In addition, it was not so long ago, I thought I was dreaming to go through the chilling news on the diversion of a $ 175 million credit obtained in 2012, intended to provide seven district hospitals, but it was not my case. I was well awake. The outgoing government of the NDC has indeed misapplied the loan facility of the blind side of the Ghanaians.
Surprisingly, Joy News's briefing mission uncovered the damning scandal under the administration of the NDC, now led by Mahama.
Joy News' diligent investigation revealed that the former NDC government had surreptitiously embezzled $ 6 million from a $ 175 million credit facility granted by the government to the NDC's chances research, the NDC , then in power, to win the general election of 2016. Pathetic?
The clandestine search was carried out by SCL Social, the parent company of Cambridge Analytica, based in the United Kingdom. According to the report, although $ 6 million was donated to SCL Social to conduct a national survey to provide the appropriate data for proper planning of Ghana's health care needs, the NDC government led by the US government, the National Health Authority, said in a statement. former president Mahama has seen fit to deflect the credit. for their internal research at the expense of sick and infirm Ghanaians. How insensitive?
How can we progress as a nation when some conspiratorial plotters continue to hide behind party color, devoid of patriotism and wasting scarce resources at the expense of the poor and disadvantaged of Ghanaians?
In fact, we are reluctant to insist that Ghana's economy has fallen into the quagmire under the leadership of President Mahama, but for the sake of a balanced annotation, we will proceed anyway.
One can not deny or hide the fact that Ghana suffered an economic collapse due to the economic mismanagement of the Mahama government and the many corruption cases.
If you remember it well, it's the ex-president Mahama who claimed in an amazing way that they (the NDC government) had quickly consumed all the meat. Like it's weird?
To be fair, ex-president Mahama was referring to Ghana's unprecedented economic collapse resulting from unforgivable mismanagement and rampant corruption under its watch.
And, considering the fact that the former NDC government had left a huge debt due to a major economic crisis, one could have expected the same people who deliberately caused a such mess show some remorse and refrain from accusing the NPP government of borrowing excessively mbadive debt, but this has not been the case.
NDC members are everywhere in the area shouting, grumbling and censuring the NPP government for doing everything in their power to repair the damage.
Let's be honest, though, if the NDC government of the day did not mismanage funds for various development projects, the NPP government would have enough money to undertake many development projects.
It is quite true that the huge funds involved in the corruption scandals in the SSNIT, the SUBA, the SADA, the GYEEDA, the Woyome, the World Cup in Brazil, the famous bus brand, NSS, among others, have financed many infrastructure projects.
Indeed, there is irrefutable evidence of cases of gargantuan corruption, including money paid to people who have rendered no service to national development.
Apparently, the rottenness in the former NDC government was so pervasive that even staunch supporters threatened to boycott the 2016 general election.
I remember my longtime friend who had seen enough disorder in his beloved NDC government, which had decided to leave the NDC.
My friend said that he has been defending and defending the party's values of integrity, transparency and accountability for over twenty-three years, but he has lost the zeal to continue, while the badaults and corruption of the president's government Mahama reached immeasurable proportions.
My friend, however, maintained that the last straw was when President Mahama unfairly squandered Ghana's meager resources on Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).
Unfortunately, the benevolent Mahama spent a lot of Ghana's meager resources and bought two four-wheel drive cars and a luxury bungalow (estimated at $ 470,000) without any work.
The courage of my companion comes from the fact that he worked all these years in power so that the party can enjoy the power, while he had nothing to show for his efforts.
My friend was therefore furious that parasitic creatures like Mrs. Akua Donkor were unnecessarily flooded with all sorts of melodic gifts.
Unsurprisingly, however, my friend resigned from his role at the CND before the 2016 elections and told me that he would not even be going to his polling station on the day of the election. ballot.
In fact, he did not see the urgent need to vote for the NDC and President Mahama. My friend was indeed distraught by the management of Mahama's economy and by his laissez-faire leadership.
Indeed, much of Ghana's resources have been depleted because of unforgivable mismanagement and indiscriminate corruption perpetrated by officials of the former NDC administration.
The former NDC government even managed to allocate the amount of the debt in the national budget (about 600 million GH).
Somewhere in 2010, it was reported that the late Mills had warned some officials of his government not to pay Woyome. Yet the conspirators challenged Mills' good old orders and distributed an incredible sum to Wayome, who had no contract with the Ghana government.
Subsequently, in July 2014, the Supreme Court of Ghana ordered the businessman, Mr. Alfred Woyome, to repay to the state a debt of a dubious amount s & d. Rising to 51.2 million Gh between 2009 and 2010.
The decision of the Supreme Court was taken following a re-examination of the previous court decision requested by the former Attorney General, and the current special prosecutor, Martin Amidu, who supported that Woyome, like international companies, Waterville and Isofoton, did not have a valid contract. paid any amount by the state in judgment debt.
The Supreme Court also ruled that Isofoton S.A. and Waterville Holdings BVI also had to repay the bad debt payments that had been paid to them by the former NDC government.
The country's highest court ruled that Waterville Holdings BVI would have participated in the construction of stadiums in Ghana, in anticipation of holding the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, but would have been unduly paid $ 25 million. euros and therefore had to repay this money. The Court ordered Isofoton S.A. to pay US $ 325,472 in damages as a debt due by the Government of Ghana.
Unfortunately, none of these funds were recovered by the former NDC government, despite the Supreme Court ruling.
Nor can we ignore scandalous corruption cases involving GYEEDA, AZONTABA, SADA, SUBAH, the alleged $ 300 million debt incurred under the STS Bankruptcy Housing Agreement, the unreliable Embraer 190 Aircraft and the hanger of the Armed Forces of Ghana The loss of revenue between 2011 and 2013 was reported by the Committee for Public Interest and Liability, headed by Major Daniel Ablorh – Quarcoon (re).
The Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF), however, estimates that the sums lost due to questionable and corrupt transactions under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama rise to 5 billion GHC.
We really need true leadership with a vision and ideas, altruistic leadership without corruption, without greed, without competence and able to transform us into an industrialized and robust economy.
