The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) urges candidates to the party's parliamentary primaries to use the party's internal structures to resolve their process-related problems.

The Committee made this clear in a statement following reports of dissatisfaction among some candidates in certain constituencies, including the Asawase constituency.

Sammy Gyamfi, NDC's communications officer, said in a statement: "The FEC has taken note of reports of difficulties faced by some candidates when choosing application forms or ranking. The FEC badures everyone that his party is committed to free, fair and transparent primary elections. "

"We would therefore like to appeal to all aggrieved parties to comply with the party's structures and provide procedures for seeking redress. There is controversy in the Asawase constituency over allegations of sabotage made against the leaders of this constituency by supporters of a certain Mubarick Masawudu, who wishes to participate in the primaries. .

Mubarick Masawudu was unable to file his candidacy forms on Friday because he arrived in Accra with supporters to drop off at party headquarters.

According to reports, a deputy secretary at headquarters allegedly refused to accept his candidacy because of alleged disciplinary action against him.

On Thursday, he ran into a similar problem at the Ashanti party's regional office when he arrived to present the candidacy.

"I chose forms and I am here to submit them, but it is unfortunate that the party office is closed, whereas they are supposed to work from morning till night," said Mubarick Masawudu.

But the NDC's FEC appeals to all candidates for restraint and compliance with the rules governing the process and conduct of their campaigns in a respectful manner.
