A United Airlines plane skidded off a runway at Chicago O'Hare International Airport just before noon Saturday, Chicago fire officials said.
No injuries were reported among the 129 people on board Flight 656 from Phoenix when it took off from the concrete.
Officials from the Chicago Fire Department said the incident was probably due to the weather. Chicago has seen a continuous snowfall since Friday night and more than 900 flights have been canceled.
Aviation Department spokeswoman Karen Pride said officials had reacted immediately to the incident. "No injuries were reported and pbadengers were safely landed," Pride said. "We are currently working with United Airlines and our urban partners to recover the plane."
The pbadengers were escorted from the plane and then transported to the terminal.
