On Monday, August 5, 2019, the Kaduna High Court decided to rule on the bail application filed by the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibraheem El Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat.
The adjournment follows the harsh argument of Femi Falana, El Zakzaky's senior attorney, that her clients were absent from court because of their degenerating state of health.
But state attorney General Dari Bayero has objected to the bail application, saying that El Zakzaky could be treated in Nigeria.
As in the previous indictment, security was strengthened in the capital, with some streets totally tolerated and additional police on the streets.
Femi Falana told the court that her clients were absent due to the deterioration of their health.

He pointed out that his clients had to travel abroad to seek treatment in order to be strong enough to face the real lawsuit.
While opposing the bail application, the prosecutor stated that the defendants could be treated in the country and therefore did not need to travel abroad.
The presiding judge, Judge Darius Khobo, returned to Monday, August 5, 2019 to rule on his application for bail.

All roads leading to Court 4 along Ibrahim Taiwo were blocked by police and other security guards.
Kaduna police had earlier called on residents to perform their normal activities without hindrance or impediment, as long as adequate security was in place before the trial.
