Mauricio Pochettino fears that Harry Kane's season will end after an injury to the striker during Tottenham's win over Manchester City in the Champions League.
The English international has borrowed the tunnel after being injured at the left ankle as a result of Fabian Delph City 's tough challenge.
Kane was unable to weigh heavily on his ankle – the one he had injured against Manchester United last January, which had dismissed him for more than a month.
Lucas Moura replaced him as Tottenham rallied his talisman and won the match 1-0, thanks to Son Heung-min who had just emerged from the stalemate 10 minutes before the end.
Pochettino provided an update of the injuries after the match.
The boss of the Spurs first told beIN Sport: "It's really very sad. It will be difficult and we will miss it. Maybe for the rest of the season.
"Bad news." It was his ankle, the same ankle.
"It's a very sad night, I was happy with the performance and the victory but sad because of the injury.
"Hope this is not a big problem and we will check in the next few days."
In his press conference, he then added, "If you see the action, it's an action that it may be twisting at the ankle, which can really damage the ligaments.
"We have to check in the next few days, it's so painful, yes, I'm afraid it's the end of the season.
"We have to hope that this is not a big problem, but it does not look good."
