Update: the court returns the mother-in-law for cutting off a boy's hand

The doctors at Cape Coast University Hospital successfully amputated the hand of this five-year-old boy.

"The operation took place on Wednesday morning and the boy is under further treatment at the hospital recovery unit," said Richard Kwadwo Nyarkop, Joy News.

He added that little Isaac was in the company of social workers and hospital staff who provided him with the necessary emotional support.

The hospital is also appealing for public support to allow Isaac to obtain an artificial hand.

Meanwhile, Cape Coast police arrested the mother-in-law who badaulted her.

According to the accused, they went to the farm and Isaac had taken the lead and defecated on the farm.

She said his intention was just to hit him with the cutlbad but eventually cut off his hand. According to her story, she would have tried to treat the wound with hot water, but the boy would not have obliged.

However, Isaac was not sent to the hospital until two other people who went to the village, saw him and took him to social badistance.

The police accused the mother-in-law of causing harm. The victim's father was also chosen by the police.

Update

On Wednesday afternoon, the district court of Abura Dunkwa Kwamankese (center) placed Efua Abaduwa in custody.

She was brought to court in the morning after being arrested on Tuesday and indicted on an interim basis for causing injury.

David Mensah, father of the 36-year-old child, was also remanded in custody.

They are expected to appear again in court on February 14, 2019.
