The Accra University of Professional Studies (UPSA) is about to launch three new programs for the coming academic year.

Programs approved by the National Accreditation Council include: MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Master of Arts in Peace, Security and Intelligence Management and Master of Arts in Branding and Communication.

Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, Vice Chancellor, said in a speech delivered in front of graduates at the second session of the 11th congregation of the university, Thursday, July 25, 2019.

"I am pleased to announce that UPSA has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for a Master of Arts degree in Peace, Security and Intelligence, a Master of Arts in Branding and Communications, and an MBA in impact on entrepreneurship and innovation for the 2019-2020 academic year, "He revealed.

He added that the new programs have been meticulously structured and will respond to growing business demand and will address modern challenges in the areas of branding, entrepreneurship and security.

"As the only professional university in Ghana, we are aware of the academic programs that would benefit society and the timing of these programs is just as we are."

A total of 1,360 students graduated from the Faculty of Accounting and Finance at the University Auditorium, which has just been commissioned.

This figure included 1,124 undergraduate students and 236 graduate students. For the first cycle, 36 obtained the first clbad, 356 the second higher clbad, 356 the second lower clbad, 269 the third clbad and 105 pbades. While 11 of the diplomats reached the Distinction, 161 got a credit and 64 got a Pbad.

The Vice Chancellor also urged graduates to "take the lead on change" by refusing to indulge in the first degrees awarded. He says that change is inevitable in life and that the only way to get ahead of change is constant improvement.

"Today marks an important day in your life, but the beginning of a journey … I urge you to continue your masters studies and professional qualifications. Never be complacent. It's the only way to stay ahead of change, "he said.
