The US Ambbadador tightly hand-held with Mion Lana
Stephanie Sullivan, US ambbadador to Ghana, paid a courtesy call Friday to Ya-Na Mahama Abukari (II), ruler of the Kingdom of Dagbon, at Gbewaa Palace in Yendi to congratulate him on his ascent.
Ambbadador Sullivan welcomed the peace in the region, urging everyone to work to maintain it in order to facilitate development, as "Without peace, there can be no development".
She discussed the priority areas of US-Ghana relations, which included trade and investment to encourage business-driven development in the country, regional security to promote peace and governance to strengthen institutions to better serve the population.
Ya-Na Abukari (II) spoke about the US Agency for International Development's (USAID) interventions in the region, expressing gratitude to the United States Government for its continued efforts to ensure peace and development in the region.
He then conferred the title of Queen of Peace to Ambbadador Sullivan, where she was traditionally dressed.
Ambbadador Sullivan then paid a courtesy call on Mion Lana Chief Mahamadu Abdulai in his Mion Palace to congratulate him on bagging.
She reiterated the need to maintain peace in the region to foster development.
Ambbadador Sullivan also visited a community planning and health service complex in Warivi, Mion District, Northern Region, to learn more about its impact on the lives of community members.
The Warivi CHPS complex, which was inaugurated about a year ago, was built with USAID support as part of the USAID System for Health project to improve the delivery of health care in the country.
Ambbadador Sullivan particularly urged husbands to help their wives improve the care of mothers and newborns in the area.
The members of the Warivi community led by Mr. Hashim Abdallah, Mion District Chief, thanked the United States Government for providing the necessary means to support the health workforce in the region to ensure that l & # 39; establishment.
