WASHINGTON, July 9 (Reuters) – Judge Reggie Walton has set a trial date for the Justice Department’s fight to prevent insurance broker Aon (AON.N) from acquiring Willis Towers Watson (WTY.F ) for $ 30 billion.
The judge, in an order issued Friday, said the trial in the case would run from November 18 to 23 and December 20 to 22. The trial will be held in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
The US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in June hoping to block the deal, arguing it would combine the second and third largest of the “big three” global insurance brokers and push prices up. . Read more
