New York City is ready to celebrate the US Women's National Team for winning the Women's World Cup.

Shortly after the team's victory Sunday in Lyon, France, Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke to Twitter to announce a parade in his honor on Wednesday.

De Blasio told the team, "You have inspired the whole country – and New York City knows how to celebrate the champions."

The parade will span a part of Broadway that has hosted many celebratory parades known as the "Canyon of Heroes".

Megan Rapinoe won the Golden Shoe and raised her arms in her now familiar victory pose when she recovered it.

Rose Lavelle received the Bronze Trophy and Alyssa Naeher the Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper of the Women's World Cup.

Rapinoe's penalty kick gave the champions the lead in the 61st minute of the final.

Midfield soloist Rose Lavelle's goal was 2-0 in 69th as he headed to the edge of the penalty area and knocked low.

The United States won the Women's World Cup for the fourth time after beating the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday night.

Midfielder Rose Lavelle's superb solo goal lifted the score to 2-0 in the 69th as he headed to the edge of the box and pulled out.
