The United States finished with 40 shots, 20 on the board, while Thailand had two and only 27%. That was the definition of a beat.
2. The score will rub some people
Some will say that it increases the score and others will say that they are just playing to win. It's probably somewhere in the middle. I want to score a lot and have a higher goal differential, but would not seven or eight goals be enough? The former USWNT player, Abby Wambach, went on Twitter after the match to explain the team's mentality to continue scoring:

After the seventh goal, I could have pulled the dogs out and played the team, but many would probably not do it. It's not so bad that the score is 13-0, but some of the celebrations that followed the goals have certainly rubbed the opponents. You compete to win, and that is understandable, but how not to feel bad for this Thai team that had no chance? The United States was by no means clbadless because it was celebrating an unprecedented feat. But 7-0, 8-0, 9-0 all would have been good in my book.
No one who has seen this match will ever forget it, but Thailand would like to be able to do it.
3. Thank God no one was hurt
Besides the victory, it is important to note that the United States seemed to escape any major injury. The Thai keeper was a bit reckless and it seemed like the accident was inevitably going to happen. Becky Sauerbrunn did not start because of a minor injury as a precaution, then Rose Lavelle did not land well in the second half but continued to play. Overall, the team looked good before the game against Chile. They will probably not score as many goals in this match, but they will certainly try.
