The National Lottery Authority (NLA), led by the Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw and Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG), led by Captain Ben Edward Dua (retired), held a joint management meeting on 18 July 2019 to deliberate and agree on conditions, modalities and the final path. card for the official launch and operations of the VAG Lotto, which should begin in this month of July 2019.

In recent years, the NLA and VAG have clashed in areas of jurisdictional operations for the lottery.

Law 722 and Law 844 have created a lot of tension between NLA and VAG. These institutions have been heard in the courts on a number of occasions in recent years to defend their exclusive rights to regulate the lottery.

Most illegal operators and lottery agents worked with licenses granted under Law 844, which gave the Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG) the power to hold random draws or lotteries for economic and financial empowerment of its members.

It was nonetheless refreshing, strategic, rewarding and innovative when the National Lottery Authority signed an agreement with the Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG), under which the ALN officially resumed the mandate VAG regulation.

The NLA that took over VAG provided the following benefits to veterans:

1. Initial payment of 120,000 GHS by ALN to GAW and additional payment of 100,000 GHS as part of the company's social responsibility to veterans.

2. Monthly cash payment of 120,000 GHS by ALN to VAG for the maintenance of veterans.

Captain Ben Edward Dua (retired), executive secretary of VAG, praised the board of directors and management of the National Lottery Authority for rescuing the veterans.

The start of VAG puts an end to the operations and activities of illegal operators, agents and lottery writers.

The National Lottery Authority (NLA), under Laws 722 and 844, would take all necessary measures and initiatives to arrest and prosecute unlicensed operators, agents and lottery writers, and also avoid violators under the NLA license agreement. -VAG. .
