Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) confirmed that a measles had been diagnosed in a resident of the area.

According to Shaf Hussain, a spokesperson for VCH, the individual was diagnosed Thursday.

"I do not know where they are, but just that they get the treatment that anyone with measles receives," Hussain told Daily Hive.

Hussain says that the time when the patient is contagious to others is over.

In recent months, there have been several important public alerts regarding potential exposure to measles. These places include the Skookum Festival, a BC Ferries sail, an outdoor pool at New Westminster, the Vancouver International Airport and Maple Ridge High School.
